The Non-Developer Builder Stack
The essential tools and platforms every non-developer builder should know.
By The Non-Developer Developer
When people ask me what tools I use to build apps without being a developer, they usually expect a long list. The reality is much simpler.
My core stack is: Lovable for building the frontend and UI, Supabase for the database and auth, and Vercel or Lovable's built-in hosting for deployment. That's it for most projects.
Around that core, I use a few supporting tools. Figma for sketching layouts before I build (even rough wireframes help). Notion for planning features and tracking what I'm working on. And ChatGPT for when I need to understand a concept or debug something.
The mistake I see most non-developers make is trying too many tools at once. They sign up for ten different platforms before building anything. Start with the minimum. You can always add more later.
One thing I've learned is that the tool matters less than the process. A clear plan and structured thinking will get you further than the perfect tech stack. I've seen people build impressive products with basic tools, and I've seen people with premium subscriptions to everything build nothing.
Pick a small stack. Learn it well. Build something. That's the whole strategy.
